You Are The Reason Why You Are In Debt

I know a lot of people want to make more money. I was at the place too, a while back in my business. But what a lot of people did not know was that I was $20,000 in debt on my credit card and my partner was $10,000 in debt. Total 30K debt. It was not pretty.

I allowed myself to get into debt because there was this super amazing shiny course that promised to help me create six-figures in my business. I put the $17,000 course on my credit card (hence the debt) and completed the shiny course.

At the time I was also paying off my Law Degree which has cost me $50,000 in the last 4 1/2 years.

Right now my card is at 3k. I managed to pay it and my partners off (correction – ‘we’ were able to), in less than a year.
Do I regret buying the course and having a 20k debt on my credit card – NO. I learned how to pay off debt, I have also learned how to save – God – I paid $50,000 off my Degree in 4 and a bit years. I was not born a good saver, and I was not born with a business that gave me lots of money.

I worked at both. Being good with money and being a good business person. I know there are a lot of business owners who want to get their business off the ground and will do just about anything to make their business succeed. I also know there are a lot of get-rich-quick schemes. Now, I am not saying debt is bad or good. But it does affect how you run your business, it can def put you in a fear mode if you’re not aware (there were days it did for me).

What I am saying is, you can have debt, pay it off, and build your business.

You can succeed in your business and create wealth but you have to shift your mindset.

You are the reason why you are in the position you are in.

You need to take confront your reality. You can create something amazing and turn your circumstances around, but you need to stop running and start embracing and take responsibility for yourself, your money, your business and your life.
