5 Guidelines To Help You Live Stress-Free (The Busy Person’s Guide)

Stress is a killer. Literally. It can harm your heart, liver, and even your sex life. Not only are there health consequences, but also the misperception is that stress = productive.  

I’ve learned that stress doesn’t always mean success, nor does it mean productivity. 

As a business owner, I have also learned that busy = broke. Business and stress are a married couple. 

Here are my guidelines for busy people that want to live stress-free.

  1. Follow my golden principle. Before committing to something new ask yourself: Does this make my life more beautiful? Am I excited by this? Does this make my life easier in some way?
    If it doesn’t fit into any of the following three then maybe you need to rethink whether you should commit to it. 
  2. Don’t multitask. Your life should be enjoyed, savored. Do one thing at a time. 
  3. Let go of how things will work out. This is true for business owners, as it is for mothers. It is not your job to know how something will work out, your only job is to focus on why you want it. 
  4. Drink enough water. 
  5. Take short breaks. Throughout your day, take short breaks where you sit in silence. Be completely present. This will allow you to breathe, and have a break, from the chaos that you’re in. You may even have some ‘aha’ moments. 

A lot of people turn to unhealthy habits to avoid stress: overeating, sex, drugs etc. Instead of turning to negative habits, create positive habits toward your life and stress. 

Adopt just one of the above guidelines and you’ll feel 50% better. Remember, you don’t have to be stressed. Everything is a choice, and staying stressed is your choice. 

Our life is made up of choices, be wise, be conscious, be present. 

And breathe, always breathe.
